FLOUNDER GIGGING: Only a few lightweight gigs are required. A gig is simple to use and little instruction is needed even with small children. Staying simple often means fewer problems and our lightweight, aluminum and stainless steel gigs are no exception. We use an all-welded Jon boat which holds up well gainst underwater obstructions such as oysters shell beds.
 

FLOUNDER GIGGING: No bait is ever needed. Not having to pursue or buy bait is a major savings of time, effort and money.
 

FLOUNDER GIGGING: Excellent flounder gigging is always found in the backwater areas just a short ride (5 minutes or less) from the boat ramp. Having a short ride to to chosen flounder gigging area will add to the total fishing time. You can even start at the boat ramp if you wish.
 

FLOUNDER GIGGING: The boat we use is an all-welded, tough-as-nails aluminum Jon boat with a full cabin for maximum protection from the elements. The outboard we use is an economical Honda 90 hp 4-stroke. It is so quiet, you will wonder if it is even running or not.
 

FLOUNDER GIGGING: Flounder Gigging is done only in the protected back water areas (creeks, inland waterways, etc) in shallow water where there is little to no wave action. We fish all night long in one foot of water or less and are always only a few feet from the shoreline. If a storm happens our way, we are only a short distance back to the boat ramp by way of a protected waterway.
 

FLOUNDER GIGGING: Done selectively. You can see a flounder and determine the size to be legal before you gig it. Additionally, there are plenty of other fish which are legal to gig to entertain your Clients, including Sheepshead, Black Drum, Mullet and Whiting. Likewise, you can see and know not to gig an illegal fish, as you will teach your Clients in Flounder Gigging 101.
 

FLOUNDER GIGGING: Flounder Gigging is done only at night always in mild, safe temperatures. There is never any problem with sun glare, sunburn or motion sickness.
